Knowledge-Values Courses: Christian Tradition

Students will study the life of Saint Ignatius Loyola and the early history of the Society of Jesus against the backdrop of religious, political, and cultural change that transformed Europe in the 16th century. Readings and excursions will focus especially on the challenges faced by Ignatius as he administered his fledgling order from Rome at the dawn of the Protestant Reformation and on the lessons that can be learned from his success.
